The material selection of reverse osmosis equipment pipelines should consider both internal and external issues. The internal factors are the corrosion of water quality on the pipelines, while the external factors are the operating environment. The operating environment of reverse osmosis equipment determines the external corrosion of the pipeline. If the operating environment is good, surface coating (such as paint or galvanizing) is generally used. The corrosion of water quality on pipelines should consider residual chlorine, chemicals, pH value, temperature, etc. We usually use UPVC, stainless steel, etc.
I. Inlet solenoid valve
The pressure resistance range of the inlet solenoid valve is 0-10kg/cm2. Its main function is to automatically cut off the pathway between the raw water and the membrane during equipment shutdown, achieving the goal of stopping water flow.
2、 Raw water pressure gauge
The pressure source is provided by the raw water pump, with a range of around 3Kg.
3、 Rear pressure gauge of security filter (150-OPSI), front pressure gauge of pump
This gauge mainly displays the pressure before the raw water enters the pump. By observing it in conjunction with the pressure gauge of the raw water supply system, it can determine whether the security filter element is ineffective or should be cleaned. When the pressure difference is large (greater than 60PSI), it indicates that the filter element should be cleaned. If the cleaning still does not meet the requirements, it should be replaced.
4、 Membrane front and concentrated water pressure gauge (0-400PSI)
The pressure gauge in front of the membrane displays the water pressure when water enters the membrane, while the concentrated water pressure gauge displays the pressure between the last membrane outlet and the concentrated water regulating valve. By observing these two gauges together, it is important to know the pressure difference in actual operation. When adjusting operating parameters, the system pressure should be adjusted based on the pre membrane pressure gauge, especially when the system pressure is at the upper limit and the membrane pressure difference is large.
5、 Pressure switch
The function of the pressure switch is a protective device that controls the operation or shutdown of the main unit according to the system process requirements. When the raw water supply pressure is lower than the system setting value, the pressure switch will automatically shut down the main unit to avoid damage to the pump when the high-pressure pump runs out of water or without water. Its minimum value is roughly between 20-50PSI.
6、 Conductivity meter or resistance meter
Its main function is to display the water quality of pure water during equipment operation online, in units of μ S/cm or M Ω.
7、 Concentrated water regulating valve
This valve is an important component of the RO host, and its main function is to regulate the pressure inside the membrane tube, achieving the goal of adjusting the proportion of pure water and concentrated water. It can be used in conjunction with a concentrated water recovery valve to better adjust the pressure inside the membrane tube and the yield of pure water. Before opening the equipment, the valve should be opened to a certain extent to prevent the pressure inside the membrane from suddenly rising beyond the limit during equipment startup.
8、 Flushing solenoid valve
Its main function is to regularly flush the surface of the RO membrane. When the system is running under high pressure, the flushing solenoid valve suddenly opens, reducing the pressure inside the membrane tube, increasing the flow rate inside the membrane tube and allowing concentrated water flow to pass through, achieving the purpose of flushing the membrane surface. This is an important component of the RO host machine, with a specification of 3/4 inch inlet and outlet. The low-pressure membrane uses an electromagnetic valve of 0-10kg/cm2; The high-pressure membrane adopts an electromagnetic valve with a weight of 0-16kg/cm2. When the equipment is running, the concentrated water regulating valve should be opened for 2-5 minutes every day when the machine is turned on, which can also play a role in flushing the membrane.
